Jim Benner on my work as Special Events Assistant at MAMA Group
former Special Events Manager at MAMA Group, now Deputy Director of Music and Entertainment at War Child UK
“As if in answer to my prayers, Suzie got in touch and offered help just as the preparations for the hmv Next Big Thing festival was getting too much for the small team, already stretched at organising 46 shows featuring 150 artists in a 10 day period in 3 cities across the UK.
Suzie was my right hand person and took charge of the activities in our sponosor Ted Baker stores. This included booking the talent (DJs and artists) organising the staging and backline and liaising with the sponsor. The Airborne Toxic event headline show at the 1000-capacity Heaven venue was the biggest show of the event and Suzie took responsibilty for running the show.
Suzie compiled all of the Next Big Thing guest lists which included separate lists from 150 artists, agents and lables, our sponsors Ted Baker and Gaymers, our media partners Time Out and Xfm plus hmv and venue lists.
Under massive and relentless pressure, Suzie was outstanding and I don’t know how the event would have worked without her contribution.”
Louise Stevens on my work as Assistant Producer at Ballistic Events
Owner & Director at Ballistic Events
“It’s a treat to find someone who combines professionalism and ambition with a great sense of humour, and a willingness to take on even the most menial of tasks, but Suzie impressed me from the outset with her mix of skills, her quick mind and her drive. She’s one of those people who just “gets it”, and understands that the boring stuff is just as important – if not more important – than the creative and fun bits. She’s an asset to any team and a joy to work with, and I fully intend to work with her again as soon as possible!”
Cathy Graham on my work as Project Assistant – Music Dept, British Council
Director of Music, British Council
“Suzie worked closely with colleagues in the department on the delivery of some complex music projects overseas. With attention to the vital detail, application, tact, diplomacy and good humour, she was an asset to the team.”
